Conceived as a simple, cheap, easy to produce family car, the Volkswagen Käfer translated from German into People's Car named Beetle. The car went on to be extremely successful all over the world and “Volkswagen Culture” defined generations of Americans. In July 2003, the last Beetle rolled off the production line in Mexico. Over 21 million units were produced and the little Beetle came in fourth place in the worldwide “car of the century” competition in 1999. The popular convertible model was built at the Karman factory and very built until 1979.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this lovely and very original looking Beetle convertible for your consideration. Finished in Poppy Red, this Beetle is in wonderful shape. The exterior of this vehicle is great and features nice paint, decent chrome, bright alloy wheels, dual exhaust pipes, nice black convertible top, dual mirrors, and nice bumpers. Car has newer tires, and has a full size spare in the front compartment. The engine bay is very nice and tidy. The interior is very nice and features body colored panels, lovely black vinyl seats with bright red piping and has excellent padding, factory radio, factory steering wheel, nice door cards, and a crack free dashboard.
Powered by the ubiquitous 1,600cc flat 4 and mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, this Beetle is an excellent driver and has all the pep you need to enjoy it. It is recently out of a long term 25 year ownership and been very well cared for. While not perfect, this little guy is one of the nicest we've seen and is sure to bring a smile to your face.
