I purchased the car in August 2003 from a gentleman who lived in Salt Lake City, Utah suburb. He had relocated from Southern California about 5 years earlier and brought the car with him. He stated the engine (390 cid V8) was totally rebuilt in early 90's-2006 auto transmission rebuilt by Freeway Transmission in 2001.
I had the car repainted by Higgins Body and Paint in Salt Lake City; body essentially rust-free, but right hand side had scratch dent from front door to mid quarter. (looked like another bumper had run the length of the car. The vehicle had some ugly chrome wheels which I replaced with stock rims- NOS dog dish hubcaps and new Firestone narrow white side-wall tires. Bought a donor car the same model wagon to obtain scratched and/ dented moldings. The car was originally the correct yellow (which it currently has) but, it did have a white roof. Like most of my 100+ car collection, it has mostly set in one of my climate controlled warehouses all of the time I have owned it. I have a greyhound which I occasionally hauled him around, hints the greyhound hood ornament. The county sheriff at the time, who is a good friend of mine felt it was fitting to affix K-9 decals to the side.
The ancient monarch air conditioner was added-on when I bought the car. The gentleman who owned the car said the unit was on the car when he bought it and told me it was purchased new. I apoligize for some of the rambaling in the details of this vehicle, i'm writing it the best I can from the notes I have when I purchased the vehicle.
The biggest problem i've had with the car is leaking pwer steering lines, cylinder ram, etc; a common problem with most early Ford power steering systems.
