An all-new body and chassis with perimeter "Guard Beam" frame and all-coil suspension replacing the previous leaf springs highlighted the 1962 full-sized Oldsmobiles. All full-sized Oldsmobiles were now powered by the 394-cubic-inch Rocket V8 with the Dynamic 88 getting a two-barrel, 280 hp version that used premium gas, while the Super 88 was powered by a four-barrel "Ultra High Compression" 394 Skyrocket V8 rated at 325 hp. A new three-speed "Roto" Hydra-matic transmission that was smaller and lighter than the previous four-speed unit was introduced as an option.
This Super 88 is finished in Provincial White with red interior. The paint and panel alignment is very nice on this car and the chrome and bright work is beautiful. The interior is stock in appearance and it is very clean. It is powered by the 394 cu in Skyrocket V-8 producing 325 hp and backed by the Roto Hydra-matic transmission. It is equipped with power steering and brakes.The wheel and tire upgrade adds to the driving experience.
