2011 Ford F350 Pickup
A snowplow (also snow plow, snowplough or snow plough) is a device intended for mounting on a vehicle, used for removing snow and ice from outdoor surfaces, typically those serving transportation purposes. Although this term is often used to refer to vehicles mounting such devices, more accurately they are known as winter service vehicles, especially in areas that regularly receive large amounts of snow every year, or in specific environments such as airfields. In other cases, pickup trucks and front end loaders are outfitted with attachments to fulfill this purpose. Some regions that do not frequently see snow may use graders to remove compacted snow and ice off the streets. Snowplows can also be mounted on rail cars or locomotives to clear railway tracks.
“Oh, the weather outside is frightful, and the (snow)sic is so delightful “(at least to this truck). We give you for consignment a business opportunity with the turn of a key which will make the glow plugs glow, and warm the heart of this power stroking diesel, with an F350 Fisher 8-1/2 foot plow attached. Maintained and owned by a local mechanic who's forte is keeping these trucks on the roads, this beauty will be the new definition of workhorse. Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!
Royal Red Metallic bathes the exterior of this straight steel panel HD truck with a Fisher ($7,000.00) hydraulic yellow plow attached. 18-inch wheels are wrapped by LT275/70R18's that literally eat snow, so no problems with a big push. The bed has the beginnings of rust forming around the wheel openings, very common for these trucks, and plenty of room for ballast in case of a Nor'easter where you'll really have to push through the clear. Exterior presents well with 82,209 miles on the clock, as it is shiny and mostly clean. I'm getting ready to thumb my nose at the next Arctic blast.
Whistle while you work within your warm cocoon of Adobe colored cloth on a triple split (20/40/20) front bench which will seat your shovelers that will clean up the edges while you open blacktop parking lots, long driveways and small roads. A nice high cab allows for a great sightline over the plow, and power conveniences including a multi disc CD player will make that time fly that you are behind the wheel. All original dash, and plow controls at your fingertips. Lighting above the plow allows for those extra hours or early morning clearings just as the snow relentlessly retreats.
A monster 6.7 Liter diesel burning Powerstroke which puts out 400 horses is fed through electronic fuel injection. A 6R140 6-speed automatic transmission can power all 4 wheels as it sends power to both pumpkins, with a 3.55 limited slip ratio. All this is well maintained, clean and very mean.
Though not able to go on our lift due to weight, we can peer underneath and see all the trappings of a fine solid frame, and undercarriage. Twin coil moonbeam front suspension and rear leaf springs give the ride pride, and this baby just loves the undulating pavement. Power disc brakes all around are noted and all original equipment is underneath.
A steep climb inside and time allotted for glow plug warm-up, and with a turn of the key we are rollin. This truck has awesome power, and even a play with the plow shows all in excellent working condition.
A purveyor of making snow turn to dough, this powerhouse which has been meticulously maintained by the consigner wrenching on it himself, sadly finds himself too occupied otherwise with his garage to participate any longer in the plow endeavor. A real opportunity with literally the turn of the key, very nice condition, excellent quality blade, and Powerstroke diesel powerplant, all I can say is vortex schmortex!
