Even though we are particular in what we consider on trade, this Turbo S was a no brainer. This came from a great friend who beautifully spec'd this 991 Turbo S and who enjoyed it for a few thousand miles. And per his normal behavior, that's just time for something else. As far as 991 Turbos go (and as we wait for the .2 versions) you can save the extra cash because the big depreciation is gone. This is a killer 911.
At the top of Porsche production 911s, the Turbo S is hard to beat. In any sense of the word. It has that perfect Porsche design and styling of the 991 that is so easy on the eye, yet smooth and comfortable to be a daily driver, and then, when you want to feel like your favorite Porsche Racing Team driver you can. With nearly 600 brake horsepower and more than 500 lb-ft of torque as near as your right foot, these 3.8-liter flat-sixes will outright scoot.
Despite weighing approximately 3500 pounds, this is no “sleeper”, but more than capable sitting at a stop as you disable traction control, switch to Sport Plus mode, mash both pedals to the floor, and release the brake when you see the needle reach 5600 rpm and launch to 60 mph in 3 seconds or less.
On the one hand, you have the ultimate exhilarating sexy sports car, and on the other hand, you have Porsche's most posh to take your lady out in style.
Please, just be sure both hands are on the steering wheel when both feet are on the pedals!
