2003 Dodge Viper

Our low mile Viper is the first year of the new bodystyle
Intended from the outset to be a convertible, the new 2003 Viper lost its fixed roll bar and bodywork, getting twin hoops behind the occupants. The interior has a cleaner straightforward design. The revised doors and the motorized side windows add to the new redesign. The door handles flow into the bodywork.
The rear trunk area is large and offers great accessibility.
2003 ushered in the new folding-clamshell top, which stacks away into a small recess behind the cabin. Fastened to the windshield surround with just a single latch, the top brings a much greater degree of versatility to the car. The car feels almost like a coupe when the top is deployed.
Under the new bodywork its still a VIPER. Only more of it. The 2003 Viper's new V-10 has more than 500 cubic inches of displacement (8.3 liters) to achieve the 500 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque.
A Tremec T-56 six-speed manual gearbox using identical ratios to those found in previous Vipers. The final-drive ratio, too, is unchanged at 3.07:1.
For 2003 the wheels have ben upgraded to 19" units.
Brembo cast-iron discs are standard all around.
The New 2003 Viper is improved and more sophisticated. All of the controls are at your fingertips. The Car is tighter and handles better that the old car. Steering is now more linear with more feedback.
Even the sound is better. Each cylinder bank has its own sidepipe.
The viper seating position is retained. The new sport seats are supportive and comfotable. New for 2003 is the lack of the of the pedal offsets. Wheel, and Driver are now lines up straight. There is even a dead pedal.
The gearshift and location vastly improved over the old car.
The 2003 Viper feels locked down, stable, less likely to flick out the tail. The steering is linear and accurate. This is the first Viper that actually installs confidence when pushed hard.
