Finished in its factory color combination of Light Ivory over the original Black leatherette interior in excellent condition. Very straight body with excellent gaps and panel fit. Paintwork is all-original with the exception of the front bumper & hood that have been re-sprayed. Being 90% original paint, there are a few chips and scratches but the paintwork shows beautifully. The interior is in very good condition and has been well preserved with VDM wood steering wheel and 5 gauges. The undercarriage is all original and rust-free. Mechanically, the 912 runs and drives phenomenally with its matching 1600cc engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Serviced by some of the best air-cooled mechanics in Southern California. The engine was rebuilt in 2012 and only has 10,000 miles. Believed to be 62k original miles according to the 1st owner. Lots of cool documentation, in Southern California its entire life. Offered with original purchase invoice, Porsche Maintenance book, 2 keys, antenna keys both black plates, owner's manual, spare key, Certificate of Authenticity, tool kit, and spare tire. Drives and shifts like a dream. Always garage kept. A great opportunity if you are looking for an original patina with low mileage.
The original run of the 912, built between 1965 and 1969. The 1968 example exhibits the one-year-only unique door panels. The 912 engine was a 1,582cc pushrod flat-four from the 356SC, which produced 102hp in 1968. A side benefit of owning a 912 involves weight, about 250 lbs less than a 911, virtually all of the extra weight of a 911 is at the extreme rear of the vehicle.
