This beautiful 1962 Chevrolet Corvette roadster has been set up as one that can be driven across the country. Sporting a 1969 327 CID V8 which has been dressed up like a 340 HP 327, this one really scoots. The engine has only about 20,000 miles and the original 4 speed manual behind it was rebuilt just about 25 miles ago. At that time the car received a new clutch, u-joints, starter rebuild, reseal engine, new belts, new fluids, and plugs. The car fires right up and goes down the road beautifully. The transmission feels nice and tight and is really a lot of fun to run through the gears. This car is finished in a gorgeous coat of white paint which shows a high gloss and really turns some heads. The car sits on a set of period correct hub cap wheels with knock offs. These are of course wrapped in some white wall tires to complete the look. The interior is red vinyl and really is something to see. They certainly don't make interiors like this anymore. From the dual cockpit dashboard shape, to the beautifully styled gauges, it is clear GM got it right with this car. Of course this car is best enjoyed with the soft top lowered and the wind in your hair. This is the last of the straight axle Corvettes, and the last to have exposed headlights until 2005. The car is equipped with AM/FM/Cassette, manual convertible top, hub caps, power steering, seat belts, vinyl interior, and white wall radial tires. With its updated drive train, and meticulous maintenance, this Vette is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
