1953 marked the golden, 50 year anniversary for Willys, however it was this year that their financial woes caught up to them forcing them to sell. Kaiser purchased the company mid-year, changing the name from Willys overland to Willys motors. Kaiser focused their efforts on the CJ3a jeep in order to develop the more powerful and improved CJ3b. It has 25 percent more horse power and weighed less. The hood was raised to allow room for the new f head engine. The example we are representing here has only 15k miles on it and has undergone a thorough cosmetic restoration to bring it to pristine condition.
