Very rare 1 of only 836 Buick skylarks built in 54. This top of the line luxury convertible was introduced in 1953 to mark the 50 year anniversary of Buick and to celebrate GM's leadership in design. The skylark was only available as a convertible, it featured the most powerful driveline available in the Buick line up and came loaded with options standard. The skylark featured a body that was unique to the skylark only with many custom, hand fabricated body panels, such as the elongated wheel openings and lower body height. For 54 the skylarks had a unique barrel shaped trunk and rounded fenders topped off with chrome wings. Standard was Kelsey Hayes Tru wire wheels. Because of a cost in excess of $5000 (when a fully loaded roadmaster was only $3200) sales were slow and production of the skylark ended after only two years. The 53 & 54 skylarks are considered today as one of the most beautiful Buicks ever built. This example had an extensive ground up restoration and has been part of the Dezer collection since the early 90s.
