The Ford Thunderbird was a large, luxurious halo car that brought style and features to the Ford range. Traditionally a two-door personal coupe, the Thunderbird was originally designed as a response to the Chevrolet Corvette but soon morphed into a cushy personal luxury car. The car went through numerous changes but still rang true to the Thunderbird ethos. The 7th generation T-bird was sold from just 1977 till 1979. It was based on the Ford LTD and was a bit smaller and more efficient than its predecessor. Sales were strong and the car sold nearly a million units in three years. The squarer, sharper styling was a hit and cars flew off the lot.
