Here we have a 1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible for sale. This is a rare car being a drop top and only few to have been known to be built with these options. It's a factory triple black and in '71 you could not order an RT in the in the convertible so this is close as you could get. This car was featured for Muscle Car Review in 2010 and we were told is only a one repaint car. When you look down the sides you cansee that it has an arrow straight body to go along with greatd gaps and panel fit. This Car has the J54 Sport Hood along with the M41 and M42 Dual Exhaust with sport tips. Also it has the remote sport mirror. The body is covered in the Black that is accented by the V7W- White Accent Stripe. The paint is beautiful with a deep rich shine that is slick to the touch. All the glass looks good as does the stainless trim. The bumpers look like new and it has the deluxe convertible top that's black along with the black Boot. All the weather stripping appears to be in great shape. To give it that timeless look it's sitting on a set of 15” Magnum Wheels with Firestone Wide Oval Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of the Convertible. On the inside it all appears stock and is done in the factory options. It has the black bucket seats with console that houses the Three Speed Shifter and has the wood grain accents. The carpet appears to have been changed at some point and is in great condition. The Door panels are also in excellent condition and have the wood grain accent as well that ties in beautiful to the steering wheel and dash. This Challenger has the Rally Dash with a 5000 Red Line Tach. All the gauges are in great condition along with the dash, and you'll notice it still has the knobbed radio. In the trunk it has the trunk mat, spare, jack, and all the metal is in great condition.
Finally, we will look at the drivetrain of the Dodge. Under the hood it has a timeless detail that reminds you have how this car would have looked off the showroom floor. It features a 340 Engine that's set up with an Aluminum Edelbrock Intake and Holley Carb. The engine is mated to the Three Speed Trans, which is the factory option, and goes out back to the 8 ¾” Sure Grip rear end with around a 3.55 gear. For exhaust it has Manifolds with dual pipes, stock style mufflers, and resonators. This Challenger does have Power Steering as well as Power Brakes with Disc up front. When you look under it you will be thoroughly impressed as all the floors and frames are in phenomenal condition. They all appear original and are rock solid.
