1965 Cobra Roadster
For the power and style enthusiast, everyone knows that having both in an original is way out of most people's reach. In particular those all originals can be finicky and require lots of garaging and trailering, and little driving, unless you are pulling your personal wrencher in a motor home with that classic!
As the saying goes there is more than one way to skin a cat, or you can have your cake and eat it too! The solution lies in this classic reproduction from Factory Five. And, in this case it's all wrapped up for you…just get in and drive.
Words like Awesome, Really Cool, Gorgeous, Great Job come to mind when gazing at this car. Cortez Silver with custom inlayed snake skin stripes (uhhh its a Cobra ..right?!) and a slightly different texture silver horizontal stripe cutting across the bow. Custom dual chrome roll bars are seen along with badging as the original would have been. Aluminum front and rear quick-jacks, authentic ceramic coated side pipes, dual side wind wings flanking a Shelby windshield, and a chrome side and rearview mirror. Also, lest I forget, authentic style knock-off wheels wrapped in ZR rated tires. Noted are small spider cracks around the rear bumpers, as well as minimal stone chips stressing this is a driver car, not a trailer queen.
Black leather bucket seats with Simpson 5-point belts, black carpeting, black dash with plenty of toggle switches to keep you busy, and all the gauges one needs to keep the pulse on the car. Custom billet shifter, AC foot pedals, and a Cobra wood steering wheel are noted along with the chromed fire extinguisher nestled under the dash.
Flip the ultra-light hood and behold a stroked Ford Racing 393ci V8 with aluminum heads and intake, MSD ignition system, power steering, loads of braided stainless with anodized fittings, and Cobra aluminum valve covers and air cleaner. All 450hp is transferred to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission and an independent rear end. I smell smoking tires!
A powder coated custom tube chassis, custom fabricated aluminum inners structure, firewall, and trunk floors. All polished stainless-steel bolts, stainless braided brake lines, all finished to show quality. Front features power rack and pinion steering, rear features independent suspension system with 4 link tubular A arms and adjustable rear coil-overs. 4-wheel disc brakes all around with frame mounted dual brake booster to put the hooks out!
Overall a beautiful presentation with a color and textures you just do not see every day. Well-kept, but driven (consigner drove 1-1/2 hrs here to drop the car off). Only 8600 original miles, so plenty of use left. A real eye catcher, neck snapper, and thrill giver, all at a reasonable price, with no wrenching.
