Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1977 International Harvester Scout II. Finished in green over tan interior, it's a great looking and driving truck with just the right upgrades and lots of recent service. The truck saw a glass-out repaint to a high standard about five years ago; all seals, weatherstripping and window felts were replaced; grille, trim, glass and bumpers remain in excellent original condition. Panels are straight with good gaps and there are no known rust issues underneath. BF Goodrich 31x10.50 all-terrain tires on alloy wheels plus a 2.5-inch Rough Country suspension lift give it an updated look with a slightly more aggressive stance without sacrificing road manners. The winch on the front bumper was recently refurbished and works well.
The "tanbark" interior is nearly all original and shows beautifully. Dash is excellent, with a crack-free upper dash pad, well-preserved bezel, original factory AM radio (which still works) and all gauges are clear and working. Door panels, headliner and vinyl floor covering are original and very good; seat upholstery is also original except for the driver's seat base which has been professionally re-upholstered in matching vinyl. Color-matched roll bar has three-point belts for the front seats. Custom wood cover on center console is a nice touch; the original cover is included. Factory A/C is fully functional and has been converted to R-134a.
Under the hood is a 304 cubic inch V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The engine has been updated with throttle-body fuel injection but is otherwise stock; the fuel injection is a nice upgrade and the Scout runs great with it. Well optioned with power steering and power disc brakes; steering, brakes, clutch and gearbox feel just as they should. Over the last three years service has included new radiator, coolant hoses, water pump, thermostat, heater core, belts, power steering hoses, spark plugs and wires, ignition control module, starter, battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, master cylinder, front brake pads, front shocks, valve cover gaskets and a transfer case re-seal.
This Scout runs and drives great -- better than any in recent memory -- and it's remarkably dry underneath (it shows normal seepage and accumulated grime, but is not making puddles on the ground). In addition to the factory hardtop (pictured), a nearly new SofTopper full soft top is included with the sale. A factory line-setting ticket is also included.
