1969 Chrysler 300 Coupe
The Chrysler 300 (Chrysler 300 Non-Letter Series) was a full-size automobile produced by Chrysler from 1962 until 1971. It was the replacement for the 1961 Chrysler Windsor, which itself filled the place in Chrysler's line previously occupied by the Saratoga just the year before that (1960). At the time, it was considered a luxurious "muscle car", with all the performance of the Dodge and Plymouth products of the time, but with the luxury features expected of the Chrysler name.
This highly optioned Chrysler 300 was cosmetically restored approximately 4 years ago, where it was stripped down to bare metal, any metal work done, then primed and painted. At this time the trim was polished, the bumpers re-chromed and a new vinyl roof was installed. Several modern, mostly bolt on upgrades were made and the car was taken on a 2,000 mile trip in August of 2018.
Stripped repaired and repainted, this car is now arrow straight with beautiful paint, chrome, brite work and badging bringing this car to showroom condition. US Mags Rambler wheels adorn all four corners and are wrapped by Nitto NT 555 G2 Tires. Fender mounted turn signals, cornering lamps, as well as hidden working headlamps, all straight and true.
Power steering, power brakes, power windows, power door locks, 6 way power seats, power antenna, climate control, a headlight sentinel, and an AM/FM 8 track with rear seat speakers are among the options that came with this luxury muscle car. White bucket seats, joined together by a flip down buddy seat, perfect headrests, as well as a rear white bench, are all in excellent condition. White leather door panels, and a white headliner, are broken up by a jet black dash with all original gauges and knobs, fronted by a leather wrapped Tuff steering wheel. New carpet, and a new windshield were recently installed
A 440ci V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor atop, and bolted to a heavy duty automatic transmission, with a deep sump oil pan, reside under the massive hood. The engine bay is very clean with no corrosion or rust. A rebuilt air compressor ensures that you will have frigid air even on the hottest of days. New leaf springs, front hangers, bushings and a FirmFeel sway bar compliment the Bilstein shocks to finish off a smooth ride for the rear. For the front all new Firmfeel Stage 2 steering box, tubular upper control arms 1.12 torsion bars, greasable lower pivot pins, boxed lower control arms, tie rod ends and QA1 adjusters with new sway bar bushings and Bilstein shocks provide the modern day handlingand ride comfort. As this car was havily undercoated from the factory, the seat pans, body mounts and frame are all jet black with no rust.
This restored and upgraded lion was meant to be driven and enjoyed. Everything performed on this car was for its use, to take yourself back to a time when the superhighway was just one way to get somewhere. Chrysler luxury and power combine to make this mile long muscle cruiser a reliable and comfortable drive, interstate or blue highway. Upon its arrival at Classic Auto Mall it definitely turned heads amongst the people here that are very accustomed to seeing some fabulous automobiles roll through the door, it attracted that much attention.
