This restored 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible is the car that set the standard for this iconic make. There's a reason why this blue looks so shiny and new, because it's a true modern clearcoat with a luster that instantly conveys a large investment. You have some of the best elements from the first generation Camaro on this convertible, including the front air dam, rear spoiler, and bright "ice cube tray" louvers in the '67 SS hood. Plus, you can never go wrong with the correct SS badging on the grille, fenders and gas cap. Brightwork is excellent, from the thin chrome bumpers, to the full windshield surround, to the delicate side trim that covers the flared fenders and rockers. Even the Rally wheel package seems extra bright. But this Camaro also has a dark side. The optional painted black Bumblebee Stripe does a great job of coordinating with the dark interior and the crisp black folding roof, so this one looks great with the top up, or down.
If the exterior did not convince you there was a quality restoration done in the last two years, the interior absolutely will. Everything looks clean, black, and fresh, including the door panels, carpeting, and dash panel. The low-back bucket seats look like they are straight from '67, and in-between them is the desirable center console. There's also an AM/FM/cassette stereo to keep everyone entertained. But the moment you sit down, you know this one was specially built for the driver. It starts with the wood rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, and there's even a factory SS wheel that comes with the sale, too. Both give you a clear view of the dual pods that house the large speedometer and tachometer. There are more auxiliary gauges mounted in the middle. These are just in front of the Hurst shifter, and that tells you this Camaro will let you choose between comfortable cruising when you want, but performance shifting when it's time to get serious.
Open the hood to see an engine bay built to take on the streets. This 396 cubic inch big block was rebuilt during the restoration, and we believe there's less than 2,000 miles on it since completion. So, while you love all the correct decals on the shiny air grabber and valve covers, as well as the bold orange radiating power from the engine bay, there's also true quality behind the style. Plus, it's finished with all the right features you want – from an electric fan for reliability, to a Flowmaster dual exhaust so everyone can hear your big block roar. Best of all, the restored Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission is in place to keep you in complete control of this powerhouse V8.
